Review of Owen Jones' "Chavs; The Demonization of the working class". There's nothing wrong with non-fiction, just it's not something that I review. As the writer Owen Jones referenced in his book Chavs: The Demonization of The Working Class, lots of media attention has been spent making white working class individuals seem less than normal. I've been writing too much about economics, politics and the class system recently, so I'll keep this brief to avoid repeating myself. The evening was chaired by Owen Jones - Independent columnist and author of 'Chavs - the demonization of the working class' who proved to be an enthusiastic chair. Few first time authors have been able to spark as much debate about a subject as Owen Jones has with his new book Chavs: The Demonization of the Working Class. In light of all those loony looters parading the streets with their freshly gleaned carpets and plasma TVs, I thought it might be appropriate to reconsider my ethnographical investigation into the Chav-Life. Chavs: The Demonization of the Working Class, by Owen Jones, has received a lot of well-deserved attention. A great new book has appeared recently about the working class in the UK. There is a great book to be written about modern-day elite disdain for the working classes.
